Our places in the country

I was delighted to see Guy stayed at YHA Hartington and #minichallenge34 was about YHA. YHAs are not only ideally located for walkers, cyclists and families alike, they’re also a fantastic opportunity to connect with like minded people. One of our favourite is Kings YHA in Snowdonia, which is nestled in a deep valley off Dolgellau. A stream runs in front of it and all-ability walks spread from its doorstep, including Cadair Idris. We’ve been going three times a year for nearly a decade, so much so in fact the owners are now friends!

No TV, limited Wi-Fi but a well-furnished lounge with board games, books and an open fire, it’s a home from home talking to fellow travellers. Nadege Rutter, Solihull
