SHERPA Rolpa Jacket

-

RRP £50 Target price £45

Falling somewhere between kitten fur and duckling down on a scale of fluffiness, the Rolpa is so soft I could swear that hugs with my nearest and dearest lasted significantly longer when I was wearing it. With a more casual aesthetic than the Quechua, concealing Nepalese-inspired trims inside, it felt as much at home in ritzy gastropubs as it did on chilly autumn hikes. It’s not the warmest of fleeces, but it’s amply toasty for mid-level winter wanders, when mostly worn under a jacket. When not needed, it can be squashed down small for stowing in your rucksack. I found it fairly loose-fitting all over, including the cuffs and hem; all except for the collar that is, which felt wonderfully snug when fully zipped up. A chin guard stops the zip from chafing. And being made from an anti-pill fleece (100% polyester) should mean the Rolpa’s softness lasts, even after multiple washes. It has two zipped hand-warmer pockets, each roomy enough for a large smartphone or wallet, with a slot for headphone wires in one. A jacket that helps fund education in Nepal, you can feel doubly good wearing it. PT
