Peril in the Dales

‘I was walking in the Yorkshire Dales with a small group of friends when we came upon a man and his wife. She’d just slipped off the path and, in a freak accident, had broken a bone in her leg which was protruding through the skin. He was calling the ambulance but didn’t know exactly where he was. We were able to pinpoint on the map where we were for the ambulance and gave the what3words for the exact location. We waited with them until we saw the ambulance speed up the tiny country lane towards us, then find our exact spot.’ Helen Padwick
