A lucky accident

Jenny Walters’ article on Pen y Fan took me right back to 2007 when we took our then six and eightyear-olds up Corn Du and Pen y Fan from the Torpantau side, avoiding all the busy roads, parking issues and crowds. A lucky accident for as we knew nothing about the area but were staying in Talybonton-Usk so started that side. It was a great six-hour adventure remembered always for how amazing the kids were. This started a love of walking and has taken us on numerous Peak District routes and further afield to the summit of Mount Kinabalu in Borneo, Nevada Falls in Yosemite and many more. Lucky us. The kids are now off at uni but they have been bitten by the bug.
