What is a challenge?

Looking for my next big solo walking challenge, I thought of the Coast to Coast. I decided to wait until my husband and I had done the Herriot Way. On the second day we walked between Hawes and Keld. The weather was perfect and we could see for miles. But that day I felt daunted at the thought of walking here on my own and felt I had let myself down. Then I recalled Nick Hallissey’s article in April about ‘Turning back’. It has helped me to accept my limitations. I am now looking for a challenge that’s not as daunting… perhaps the Cotswold Way. Advice welcome!
