Taith Ardudwy Way
24 miles/39km
Follow the buzzard: its soaring outline adorns the bright yellow roundels that show the way. Traversing the commote of Ardudwy (a land division in the medieval Kingdom of Gwynedd), the trail threads together drovers’ roads and hill paths, crossing the wavy seaward mane of North Wales’ Rhinogydd mountains. Walked south to north, from station to station, it opens in Barmouth above the staggeringly beautiful Mawddach estuary, sidewinding to an end at Llandecwyn. A three-day itinerary is recommended.
