I’m a great Fan
Having read the November issue of Country Walking, can I recommend that your readers try the Carmarthen Fans (OS map OL12; grid ref SN825218) instead of the much more popular and busy Pen y Fan slopes?
Having climbed this ridge a few times, I personally believe it’s a lot nicer than its bigger brother in terms of the views, and you still reach 802m at its highest peak.
There is even a ‘diving board’ here too if you are a tad brave to step onto it...
Walking it in across all the seasons is a joy and you get a good view of the Brecon Beacons as a bonus on a good clear day just to doff your cap and to say to all the walkers come over here instead...
