‘I was afraid of everything!’

-

‘I was nervous about getting lost, being too unfit to do it, being out in the middle of nowhere, needing the loo – you name it, I was afraid! But through this challenge I’ve conquered these anxieties and have been getting out there with my husband, the dog and just by myself. My confidence has grown, I can now read a map, and I feel like an adventurer, which I’m really proud of.

‘If I could have a word with my younger self now I would say stop looking at life from the outside and get on with it. Get out there and walk. It frees your mind, moves your body and stimulates your brain. Be the adventurous person you want to be, but never thought you could.

‘Going for a walk improves my mood and has given me a hobby, but it has done our relationship the world of good too, talking more, and having adventures together.’ Sarah Davis, 50, Tunbridge Wells
