The Movie Star Mine

Rambler Man isn’t the first movie appearance for the fells around the acclaimed Honister Slate Mine, which is home to via ferrata and zip-wire adventures as well as mine tours.

Last year, it was a key setting for the emotional drama Supernova (left), starring Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci as partners who take a road trip to the Lakes while confronting the fact that Tucci’s character is suffering from early-onset dementia.

“I loved Supernova,” says Rambler Man writer Ewan. “The scene where they drive over Honister Pass in their campervan, looking so tiny against the mountains, was really something. When we created a mood board for Rambler Man, I stuck a picture of that scene up. I think it has had a good influence on us.”
