89’s not old anymore
I’m sure you only declared Len the oldest 1000-mile walker so you got hundreds of responses from people who were older and had also walked the same distance. Eighty-nine is not old these days. I too am 89 and reached the 1000 mile target in September. I reset my target to 1500 miles for the year. Unfortunately, due to a few events outside my control I missed it by 33 miles – but 1467 is not bad. I belong to a walking group and lead some walks – and in fact one of the first things I did when I retired was to walk the Pennine Way.
