WALK HERE

For an 8-mile route, park in Salcott and follow the England Coast Path round the edge of the peninsula to Old Hall Farm, then turn north on paths to meet your outward route and retrace your steps to the village.

GETTING HERE

Bus 92/50/50A between Colchester (which has a rail station) and Tollesbury stops at the turning for Salcott, half a mile from the village (not Sun). See essexbus.info

WHERE TO STAY

The Old Police Station in nearby Tollesbury has a comfy, contemporary studio apartment in a self-contained annexe, with numerous walks straight from the door (sleeps 2-4, £85pn, airbnb.co.uk).
