GETTING HERE

Blaenavon is 5 miles southwest of Abergavenn­y; the walk starts at Keeper’s Pond a mile north of Blaenavon on the B4246, or you can walk from Abergavenn­y to Llanfoist and up to join the trail. X24 bus runs frequently from Newport, Cwmbran and Pontypool (all have rail stations) to Blaenavon.

There’s also a cafe at the World Heritage Centre with gorgeous views across the valley (01495 742339).
