3 THE WAY IS PAVED WITH… NAPPIES
Head west to walk the coast of Wales and you might ride over some creative recycling, as fibres recovered from dirty nappies have been used to make asphalt and resurface a stretch of the A487 near Cardigan. It keeps waste out of landfill (where it can take 500 years to break down), replaces a construction material that otherwise has to be trucked from Europe, and ‘nappyenhanced’ asphalt is even more durable than the regular kind. And no, it doesn’t smell.
