26 HAVE A LAVISH PICNIC
These long warm days are the stuff of January dreams! Have a picnic to make your winter self green with envy. Wine? Hats? Cutlery? Basketwork? Furniture? Three courses? All of the above?
27 DO A GREEN THING
Use public transport, do some conservation, make an ecofriendly packed lunch, do anything positive for the planet (perhaps inspired by this issue) and tell us about it, however small.
28 FIND AN ORCHID
Nevermind that examples like the common spotted orchid are surprisingly, er, common – finding an orchid FEELS like hitting a botanical jackpot. Spot and ID one of our 52 species this month.
29 ASK SOMEONE TO TAKE YOUR PHOTO
It’s cringe but it’s also really nice for the person doing it to be asked, for you to have pics of both/all of you, and frankly for the world to be brought together in this small way.
30 EAT HONEYSUCKLE
This beautiful, fragrant woodland wildflower is edible and infuses a delicate honey flavour into drinks and dishes. Give it a try in any form you choose and pass your honest verdict.
