Our little big adventure

- George Cooke, by email

We were in the market for a decent two-day challenge walk. Having scanned all of the many copies of

CW I have stashed away for inspiration I came across The Sandstone Trail mentioned in passing.

Well we’ve just done it and it’s really rather wonderful!

If you squint your eyes really tight from places you can see Snowdon way over on the horizon. It felt like we were on top of the world. Turns out The Sandstone Trail offers a spectacular stretch of countryside with breathtaking views.

We staggered 34 miles over two days which for my little legs is A Big Deal as I’ve never done distances like that before. I tend to read CW in the bath with a glass of wine, with wistful dreams of adventures that could happen one day but often never materialise as the chaos of life means that making those adventures happen is challenging. But turning 40 this year meant this adventure HAD to happen... And I’m so very glad it did. Thank you

CW and thank you Sandstone Trail for a smashing few days! I’m now in the bath but this time dreaming of my own adventure lived, tired and happy!
