PROLONG YOUR POLES

-

Good walking poles can last for decades if looked after properly. But without basic upkeep the inside surfaces of adjustable pole sections can become corroded by accumulated grit and grime. The result? They seize up or won’t lock securely. The pole experts at LEKI recommend making a habit of cleaning dirty poles, especially after they’ve been exposed to salty sea air. When cleaning telescopic poles, the first step is to separate the sections. Folding poles can simply be unfolded. Run a damp cloth over each section, wiping away any dirt, then leave them to dry before reassembly. Don’t, whatever you do, use cleaning fluids such as WD40, as these can adversely affect twist-lock and antishock mechanisms.
