Why I love Whernside

What I love most about Whernside is standing on the summit and taking in the amazing view. As Yorkshire’s highest peak it has great view westwards out to the Howgills, the Lake District and Morecambe Bay. The view never fails to give me a sense of pride in the work we do on the Three Peaks to tackle erosion, and I often I go up early or late when it’s quiet and I can have the view all to myself!
