LLYNS IDWAL & BOCHLWYD, Route 23, August 2016

I spent a brilliant solo weekend staying at YHA Idwal and exploring the Ogwen Valley in Snowdonia NP. I fully enjoyed this walk. Despite the weather constantly changing, I felt alive and even tackled some scrambles for the first time. Exactly the kind of weekend I needed to boost my confidence and challenge myself. I can do it! Nadège Rutter, by email

GARLIESTON, Route 23,

April 2015

This was just too tempting as we were staying very nearly at the starting point. This lovely coastal walk included spectacular gardens on the return journey. The five stiles mentioned have all been replaced with gates apart from the one at the castle. This was a ladder style with a rung missing! Fabulous walk with weather to match. Mandy Cooke, by email

ABERDYFI, Route 21, Spring 2022

On the search for walks for half term, I was so pleased to find this one described as being perfect for enthusing the kids. It had everything we would want on a family walk – sheep, beautiful views, somewhere to stop for lunch, hills to roll down, sand dunes to jump off... and scavenging on the beach for shells and crabs. BURES, Route 13, June 2022

Forecast: dry; weather: wet. But we enjoyed good views on a nice route with lots of animals spotted. A good way to spend a Sunday. Pictured are Gemma, James (9) and

HUISINIS TO CRABHADAIL,

Route 26, November 2019

This short but rugged circular deserves to be regarded as a Hebridean classic. It visits three spectacular beaches: Hùisinis at the start, the stunning and secluded sweep of Tràigh Mheilein overlooking Scarp, and Crabhadail, surrounded by mountains. Although much smaller than Tràigh Mheilein, the remote location of Crabhadail beach makes this a truly special place. Roy Thorpe, Hyde

CLENT HILLS, Route 8,

Spring 2021

Having lived four miles away for several years, but now much further away, we finally got round to doing this walk and managed to get the timing right for the massed wild garlic and bluebells. A lovely sunny day and a beer at the finish made this a memorable day. Richard & Karen Myatt, Powys
