Kesugi Trekking Trousers
RRP £59 Target price £30
The Kesugis fall somewhere between trousers and tights: the fabric clings to the legs snugly while the waist is much more laid back and fastens with a button and a zip fly. There’s a slight split personality in the way the trousers move as well. I found there to be excellent freedom of movement around the hips, but the fabric was too tight around the thighs and knees for my liking and over the course of a long walk I began to feel a little constricted. The fabric is light, stretchy and very quick to dry, though the tightness around the legs means there isn’t much circulation of air. On the practical side, there are a whopping six pockets in all: two back pockets, two at the hips, and two at the front of the thighs. These latter two are particularly deep, and take a good-sized smartphone. However, none of them are zipped, which is a shame and leaves your keys and wallet feeling vulnerable. I was grateful though for the water repellent coating which saw off a quick rain shower without any trouble.
