Miles walked this month: 86

I keep a list in my head with only two things on it – abandoned houses in remote mountain areas that I’d love to live in. Both are in Snowdonia and this is one of them (the other I’m keeping to myself, just in case I win the lottery, which I never enter). In the Carneddau mountains, south of Llyn Eigiau reservoir, tantalisingly downstream of the towering Carnedd Llewelyn, is Cwm Eigiau. Clearly visible on OS maps is a building called Cedryn. I saw it properly only recently on a walk out of the mountains, after two nights wild camping. It called to me in a way I can’t explain. Déjà vu? I don’t know, but I felt an immediate connection with this beautiful, lonely abode. I’ve thought about it often since. Spooky or what?

Note to self: Who do I know with a spare million? Think man, think.
