WINTER SCIENCE

-

Walking is of course the very best way to improve circulation

– but it’s especially beneficial in winter, and your legs are the stars of the show. Cold weather and the associated drop in atmospheric pressure causes our blood vessels to constrict, but if you get out and get the legs going, all that pumping causes your veins and arteries to expand again, sending the blood all round your body and especially to those extremities that are crying out for it, like toes and fingers. So if there’s a season where your body really needs a walk, and where stretchy, versatile trousers can play a big role, this is it.
