NATURE & OVERALL WINNER

An incredible capture by David Atkinson from West Bromwich, beautifully lit, exposed, pin sharp and technically a huge challenge pulled off. Says David: ‘I’ve tried numerous times to capture the beautiful kingfisher, but they are so quick that numerous attempts had failed. I arrived just after dawn and after five hours of patiently waiting I got the image you see today. I can’t believe I’ve won! I’m just an enthusiastic hobbyist, completely self-taught who loves capturing images and practicing trying to get better and better. And now of course I have an amazing new mirrorless camera to use too! Wow!’
