WALK HERE

For a fantastic walk all around the Clent Hills as described here, follow Walk 8 in this issue. GETTING THERE

The Clents lie at the heart of a triangle formed by the M5, A491 and A456, close to Halesowen, Stourbridge and Bromsgrove. WHERE TO EAT & DRINK

There are three fine places to eat flanking the Clent Hills. The Four

Stones at Adam’s Hill (01562 883260, thefourstones.co.uk) has upmarket mains such as mushroom and rosemary stuffed chicken breast for around £20. Likewise the Vine Inn (01562 882491,

vineinnclent.com) with specials such as game pie with venison, pheasant, rabbit, pigeon and partridge for £16. And of course

there’s the Nimmings Wood National Trust café (no phone; nationaltrust.org.uk/clent-hills): open year-round, with the famous bacon sandwiches for £4. WHERE TO STAY

Options are pretty limited in the local area. Closest is the

Premier Inn at Hagley (0333 003 8101, premierinn.com), with doubles from £55. Further afield, the Bromsgrove Hotel and Spa

(0871 221 0121, britanniahotels.com) has doubles for around £95 (plus parking charge). MORE INFO

The National Trust’s Clent Hills website has plenty of visitor information at nationaltrust.org.uk/ clent-hills. And you can find general tourist info at visitworcestershire.org and visitbirmingham.com
