My poor old iPhone 7 has a hard time when it goes on walks with me. Taking artsy photos, recording voice memos, browsing ID apps, and using the built-in GPS receiver all take their toll on its ailing lithium-ion battery. If it’s cold outside and I’m in a snap-happy mood, the power meter can go from 100 to 50% in next to no time. So it’s just as well I carry this 9600mAh portable power bank (and hopefully remember to charge it before I head out). On a full charge, it can rapidly refill modern smartphones three times over. And because it has two USB-A ports (plus a USB-C one), I can charge my headtorch at the same time. If my headtorch has already died, I can resort to the Venture 35’s built-in 50-lumen lamp.
