LULWORTH & DURDLE DOOR, Route 3,

May 2023 I had a rare week off work in January, so decided to tackle a few walks. I presented a handful of routes to my other half who picked this one and sent me and our labrador packing. What a pick. The weather was glorious, the views incredible. We set off from the alternative start point (Ringstead Bay) and didn’t see another human until we reached Lulworth. After a cream tea stop (jam then cream!), we headed out of the village along the coastal path with stunning views all the way back – exhausting, exhilarating, perfection. Craig Flynn, Shaftesbury

STAMFORD’S FOUR COUNTIES,

Route 10, Spring 2024

We did this walk from Stamford and it was lovely… although, as you can see, the advice about it being muddy after rain was spot on. We will return in the summer! Lynn Tattersall, Worksop

SHOREHAM, Route 6, Spring 2024

My wife and I had a very enjoyable time following the Shoreham walk and took the author’s advice to stop in one of the fine eateries. However, if you find yourself paddling in the River Derwent and not the Darent (a typo in the text) you’re quite a long way off route and have walked much further than 6 miles! KNARESBOROUGH,

Route 18, March 2019

Fabulous day trip to Knaresborough, where we followed the CW route taking us along the river and through the Nidd Gorge, down part of the former railway now called the Nidderdale Greenway, and returning along the Beryl Burton Cycleway, named for the seven times world cycling champion. DUMGOYNE, Route 23, January 2024 My son has finally decided to take up walking and for his first hike, took on Dumgoyne after seeing it featured in the mag. We started out at Killearn and enjoyed a fantastic 7.45-mile circular walk, with a challenging climb up one side and a wet and muddy slide down the other.

It started to snow as we got back to the car at Killearn and was absolutely beautiful. And the dogs loved it too. Lynn Medley, Melrose

SHERBORNE, Route 3,

April 2020

I walked part of this route but it got cut short due to burrowing badgers!

Sherborne is lovely and the shop/café was a treat after squelching through the fields. Hence the wild look! Chris Claridge, Nuneaton
