TIPS FOR WINTER ADVENTURES

-

Pack warm clothing, including spares. Waterproofs are a good idea, and remember extra socks and gloves, too. Take plenty of food and water – running around in the cold uses up lots of energy so regular refuelling is required. Look out for the classic signs, such as slowing down or whining, and step in with a well-timed snack. Family outings don’t always go to plan. Celebrate even the smallest adventure as a success – if everyone remembers having fun, they’ll want to do it all again. If you’re heading further afield be prepared – take a first-aid kit, torch, spare food and water, a mobile phone and a map.
