Winter fruit
It’s not a native tree, but for a splash of citrus during the winter months, you can’t go wrong with the exotic yuzu. The hardiest of all citrus, the yuzu can survive in temperatures of up to -5ºC once it is two to three years old. Until that point, it’s important to keep it indoors over winter. The bright yellow fruit produces a juice that combines grapefruit and mandarin flavours, and it is ready to harvest in December or January for a seasonal citrus lift to Christmas and the New Year. Add a dash to your festive drinks. Cheers!
