Product of the month

-

A trio of products for you this month. It takes a while to settle in and feel at home in a woodland. One of the best ways to change pace and slow down is to build a fire. A fire pit will contain your fire safely; I think it’s worth getting the biggest you can. The Katmai Fire

pit (£49.99, robens.de/en) is pretty substantial: at nearly 6kg and measuring 73cm wide, you won’t want to lug it far. But at that size, you can build a fire big enough to keep a bunch of woodland-lovers warm. (Bear in mind that it can’t be left out permanently as it has no drainage and will fill with water.)

One good way to cook over a fire is with a tripod. If travelling light, Robens’ Telescopic Aluminium

Tripod (£54.99, robens.de/en) weighs under 1kg and will fit in a backpack. And, of course, you’ll want a cuppa, too. The Kirtley

Companion Kettle (£24.95, greenmanbushcraft.co.uk) will keep you brewing up for years to come, and will look even better as it turns more blackened and worn.
