A utumn is the ideal season for planting roses – the soil is still warm and moist, encouragin­g their roots to grow, and they have the winter months to get truly establishe­d. Come late spring, your roses will burst into bloom and then repeat flower in fragrant flushes throughout the summer until the arrival of the first frosts.
