SEA DREAMS

“Those moments, tasted once and never done/ Of long surf breaking in the midday sun/ A far-off blowhole booming like a gun…”

Thus wrote John Betjeman in his poem Cornish Cliffs. For many of us, such yearning for the sea has been sharpened through months of lockdown. This is Pedn Vounder Beach near Porthcurno, a blissful west Cornish cove that can only be approached on foot.
