Daffodils blaze in the churchyard of Wiggonholt Church in the South Downs. This late Saxon/early Norman-style building has survived almost unchanged since it was erected in the 12th century. But the village that it nurtured has dwindled over the centuries – now just a farm and rectory remain, though it offers services to the wider parish. It is a haven of peace and wildlife.
