“There’s a huge opportunity, as the British brand is really well respected; globally there is a perceived quality to it,” says Wright. “There are massive middle-class markets in China and India. There needs to be a dedicated body to promote British products abroad and which provides data for producers. With costs rising from ingredients that originate abroad, there is a market to source them within the UK if it’s possible.”
“With the right support and stability, some companies will overcome the logistics,” adds James Sibley.
