Take a Tip at Christ­mas

With icy morn­ings be­com­ing more fre­quent, it can be an­noy­ing to find that pad­locks are frozen solid and won’t open. Rather than rush back to the house, as I used to do, to get a ket­tle of hot wa­ter, I now carry a cig­a­rette lighter in my coat. The heat from the flame will soon melt the ice in the mech­a­nism of your lock.
