Take a Tip at Christmas

With icy mornings becoming more frequent, it can be annoying to find that padlocks are frozen solid and won’t open. Rather than rush back to the house, as I used to do, to get a kettle of hot water, I now carry a cigarette lighter in my coat. The heat from the flame will soon melt the ice in the mechanism of your lock.
