Get on your bike to boost heart charity

-

CYCLISTS are being urged to sign up for the Heart of England Bike Ride and raise funds for the British Heart Foundation and other local good causes.

Now in it’s 12th year, the family ride organised by the Knowle and Dorridge Lions takes place from 9.30am on Sunday, July 16.

The ride begins at the National Trust’s Packwood House near Solihull, with cyclists choosing between 20km, 30km or 50km circular routes along Warwickshire country lanes. Or cyclists can take on the ultimate challenge and cycle approximately 100km by completing all three routes.

“This event seems to be going from strength to strength with over 750 riders raising more than £20,000 for charity last year,” says organiser Paul Wheatley.

“With a choice of four distances there is something for all abilities, Event organiser Paul Wheatley, Lions President Richard Buckley, Nick Fellows from Hollywood Monster and BHF mascot Hearty families, teams and individuals. We received great feedback from riders last July who enjoyed the lovely atmosphere, getting fit, completing a challenge and raising money for charity, all at the same time.”

After the bike ride, food will be available to purchase from the Lions barbecue and there is free entry to Packwood House.

Hollywood Monster will sponsore the event for the seventh year.
