- By CLAIRE HARRISON News Reporter news@trinitymirror.com

DETECTIVES are investigating a suspected arson attack which left a bungalow completely destroyed by fire.

They want to catch the culprits responsible for the huge fire at the property in Breach Oak Lane in Corley on Sunday night.

Major damaged was caused to the family home but, fortunately, noone was in at the time.

It is understood that the suspects managed to get into the bungalow via the front door and started the fire.

Investigations are ongoing and officers want to hear from anyone who spotted anything or anyone acting suspiciously in the area.

Fire crews from Nuneaton and Bedworth battled to salvage the bungalow , which was engulfed by flames.

Engines from the two towns and Coleshill responded to several 999 calls made at just before 11.30pm on Sunday night.

While on-route, Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service control room received another call to say that the building was fully alight so a crew from Foleshill was also mobilised.

When officers arrived they found that the building was unstable and. eighty per cent of the it was involved in fire, 20 per cent by smoke and water.

Fire crews used two hose reel jets, two covering jets, ladders and lighting to try and build out the inferno.

They were at the scene until the early hours of Monday and officers have since been back to check the property.

Anyone with any information about the fire, or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area, should contact police on 101 or the Crimestoppers hotline, which is free to call from a landline and confidential, on 0800 555 111.
