BIG-HEARTED businesses have ensured that a talented team look the part when they take on some of the nation’s elite squads in an attempt to shoot Nuneaton on the national netballing map.
In what is an incredible achievement, the Higham Lane School under 16s netball team have earned a place in the prestigious National netball finals this weekend.
Their place in the competition guarantees that they will be given a top 18 ranking in England, but they will battle against the country’s best teams from both private and state schools as they aimed to crowned the best team in the country.
To ensure that the team has a kit that matches their ambition, the team’s parents netted sponsorship from kindhearted firms to ensure that they have a new kit to wear at the competition on Saturday.
A grand total of four businesses have backed the team, AKJ Brickwork of Nuneaton sponsored the hoodies, Hygiene Solutions of Nuneaton sponsored the jackets, SMS Logistics Transportation and Light Haulage in Nuneaton sponsored the bags and Genysis Consultants of Sibson sponsored the remaining kit, which has been supplied by Sporting Touch in Nuneaton.
“Without them (the businesses) the girls would not have been able to have any new kit for this event,” explained Melissa O’Grady, one of the parents.
“The kit has cost in the region of £1,000 and we are so grateful to them all for their support.”
