A VEGAN festival crammed with mouth-watering street food and lashings of vegan beer is coming to Coventry this weekend.

Taking place at FarGo Village in Far Gosford Street today and tomorrow, it will be a chance for the city to try all things vegan.

Stallholders will be selling their vegan wares between 11am and 6pm on Saturday and 11am and 4pm on Sunday, and there will also be talks from vegan authors and others so you can learn more about what it means to be vegan. The website for FarGo Village says about the event: “After a great run in 2017 we’re continuing this great event for everyone to enjoy!

“Come down to Fargo Village on the 14th and 15th of April to celebrate everything vegan!

“With plenty of totally vegan stallholders, you will be spoiled for choice!

“Don’t forget our very own vegan shop The Green Unicorn Vegan Store, our own vegan brewery Twisted Barrel Brewery and Tap House and our very own vegan cafe Totally Vegan !”

Here’s a rundown of what to expect at the festival...

The Vegan Grindhouse dubs itself the “best in Americana vegan street food right here in the Midlands!”.

The small independent business is run by husband and wife team Lisa and Andy, who are both extremely passionate about great food.

They started out after finding there was a lack of great vegan options within the street food scene.

Think of an American 1950s style diner, but all vegan and mobile and you have a pretty good idea of what to expect.

They serve up gourmet handmade burgers and regular specials.

And expect a variety of mouthwatering grub from The Power Plant Company.

As well as their loaded fries – topped with vegan chilli and much more - they specialise in soups and even vegan-friendly nachos!

Vegan talks will take place on both days: Saturday: Paul Brooks –1pm, Hannah Davies – 2.30pm; Sunday: John Connearn and Alex Morgan – 11.30am & 12.30pm, Vegan Vampires – 1pm, Paul Brook – 2pm
