Boro recruit ex-Baggie as Kemy leaves

-

FORMER West Bromwich Albion player James Hurst has agreed a deal with Nuneaton Borough – although Kemy Agustien has left the club by mutual consent.

The 26-year-old right back, who can play right midfield, becomes the latest player to sign after impressing boss Nicky Eaden during his two trial games against Coalville Town and Kettering Town.

Hurst started out with Albion academy’s and re-signed with The Baggies in 2010 after joining Portsmouth, spending much of his time out on loan in the Championship and League One before moving to Iceland to play for Valur.

After a period with Crawley Town, and a second spell at Valur, the former England youth international signed for Hednesford Town.

After an impressive spell with Torquay United the following season, scoring seven goals in 17 league appearances, Hurst has since played for Guiseley, AFC Telford United, Dover Athletic and most recently Wrexham.

Midfielder Agustien, who plays senior international football with Curaçao, signed for Boro just over a month ago.

However, the 31-year-old has now left before the season gets underway.

“It’s disappointing to lose a player of Kemy’s experience and ability,” said club secretary Adam Etheridge.

“But we have a number of signings that we are close to that we think will soften the blow.”
