Bananarama are in the Guinness Book of Records as the most successful female band worldwide with the most charting singles including 32 Top 40 hits in the UK Official Singles Chart and selling 30 million records worldwide.
The band - known for songs such as It Ain’t What You Do It’s The Way That You Do It and Love In The First Degree - reunited for a sell-out UK tour in 2017 featuring 25 dates.
The StepBack! 80s Christmas Concert is being promoted by Showtime Promotions.
Most recently, Showtime brought Sean Paul to the Ricoh , and last week, announced that they were hosting a two day festival inside the Ricoh Arena bowl next summer - and they have promised big things .
Dan Nelmes, director at Showtime Promotions, said: “Bananarama are one of the most dominant musical forces of the 80s - and to have them performing in Coventry is a coup for the city.
“The last 80s concert we did in Coventry went down a storm, so we’ve decided to bring it back this year as a special Christmas treat for the city and wider region.
“Each act will be bringing out their own back catalogue of hits and will be mixing things up with the odd Christmas number as people begin winding down for the festive season.
“To be able to see such a top collection of artists on one night so close to Christmas is quite rare, so we’d urge people to snap up their tickets in advance.”
Justine Hewitt, Head of Operations at the Ricoh Arena, added: “Music from years gone by is experiencing a long-term revival - this will be the third nostalgia concert that we will have held in a packed out Ericsson Indoor Arena over the past 18 months.
“Bananarama is another big name that we will be able to say has graced the stage at the Ricoh Arena and will be a big attraction for 80s music lovers.”
