Event will give insight into skills, training and careers

-

ONE of the most exciting and popular events for youngsters looking to their futures takes place at the NEC Birmingham in a few weeks’ time.

WorldSkills UK offers three days of insights into skills, training and careers from November 15 to 17. Formerly The Skills Show, it is the UK’s largest event of its kind, where thousands of young people find out what skills are needed for different career pathways.

There are lots of opportunities to have a go at different skills and to see business leaders and successful young professionals share their views and tips. The event is built around the WorldSkills National Skill Competition Finals, in which scores of young apprentices and trainees battle it out in their skill to win medals and the chance to represent the UK in international competitions. You can watch the UK national finals of the WorldSkills UK competitions, where the best of the best compete at the highest level in their chosen skill. From stone masonry to floristry, media make-up to landscape gardening, the competitions give you the chance to witness exceptional talents.

WorldSkills UK LIVE is divided into four areas, each providing a focus on particular industry sectors. These include: health, hospitality & lifestyle; beauty therapy; fitness; culinary arts; restaurant services; floristry; hairdressing; butchery; construction & infrastructure – bricklaying, carpentry, plastering, landscape gardening, plumbing, roofing, painting and decorating, wall and floor tiling, furniture and cabinet making, electrical installation; engineering & technology; automotive – mechanics; industrial - electronics.
