DRESSED to impress

WHICH CELEBRITIES EARNED STYLE POINTS THIS WEEK?

IT IS the role of a lifetime for the Grammy award-winning singer and Lady Gaga looks like she is having the time of her life promoting her new movie A Star is Born.

The film tells the story of country music singer Jackson Maine, played by Bradley Cooper (who also directs) who meets, nurtures and falls in love with aspiring musician Ally (Gaga).

An update of the Kris Kristofferson/Barbra Streisand classic (itself a remake of a remake) it hits cinemas next week and Gaga has been criss crossing the globe promoting it in frocks, the likes of which we have not seen since Gaga’s own early years. Although thankfully we have seen nothing that wouldn’t look out of place at the butcher’s.

At the Venice Film Festival the 32-year-old stole the show in pink feathered Valentino, while in Toronto she notched up four frocks in one night by designers including Armani Prive and Ralph and Russo.

But, it turned out we ain’t seen nothing yet from the Bad Romance singer.

For the movie’s LA premiere on Monday she rocked up wearing the premiere dress to beat all premiere dresses, a custom silver lace gown by Givenchy Haute Couture with a caped train.

With her old Hollywood curls and diamonds it was a traffic-stopping moment. Already Gaga is being tipped for a Best Actress Oscar for her performance in A Star is Born.

Can’t wait to see what she has got up her sleeve for the Academy Awards.
