ITS summer spectacular in the ruins of Coventry Cathedral was one of the highlights of the city’s super busy musical year - and now Gatecrasher is returning.

The global nightclub brand has announced it is coming back to Coventry but this time around it will be visiting in the middle of winter.

Gatecrasher will be returning to Coventry Cathedral but it will be a very different event to that summer festivalstyle experience.

The December 28 timing probably offers a bit of a clue but essentially Gatecrasher’s return visit will see an event inside the cathedral itself rather than outside in the ruins.

Gatecrasher will also be returning to Coventry with an all new Classical show.

The December 28 event, which runs from 7pm until 2am, will see Gatecrasher take over the Cathedral of St Michael in the city centre.

Gatecrasher, which celebrates its 25th birthday this year, said the cathedral’s 60ft high vaulted ceiling and “stunning” stained-glass features made it the perfect backdrop to host the all new Christmas version of its classical events programme.

The festive Classical event will celebrate 25 years of Gatecrasher history.

It will include an all new track list, which will include: Insomnia (Faithless), Born Slippy (Underworld), Power of Love (Frankie Goes to Hollywood) It’s Not Over Yet (Grace), You’re Not Alone (Olive), Children (Robert Miles) and Adagio for Strings (Tiesto).

There will also be a host of special acts and live performances alongside the Gatecrasher Orchestra, plus a support DJ line up and more besides.

The event will additionally feature a full laser and light show plus a full club sound system.

Simon Raine from Gatecrasher said: “After the summer show in the cathedral ruins Gatecrasher are thrilled to return to Coventry Cathedral.

“It’s an amazing building and venue to host our brand new 25th birthday event.”

Simon said Gatecrasher had also listened to feedback from people who attended the August event in the cathedral ruins. He added: “We have listened to the audience and will be providing more bar and toilet facilities, along with a much bigger laser show.”

General tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday October 5, however fans can sign up to access discounted pre-sale tickets from just £30, which go live at 10am on Wednesday October 3 online.
