THE family of a teenage girl who died in a car crash have paid tribute to their “kind and happy” daughter.

Alison Ingham from Warwick died in hospital six days after her car left the road on a bend.

The 19-year-old was driving on Banbury Road between Warmington and Kineton on October 24 when police believe she lost control of her car, a red Toyota Yaris.

She was kept on life support after she was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire by air ambulance following the crash, in which she was the only victim.

On October 30 the decision was taken to switch off her life support machine.

In a statement, her family said: “Alison was such a wonderful, loving, kind and happy girl.

“She lived her short life to the full and never had a bad word to say about anyone. She touched so many lives in her 19 years and her sister, mother and father are so proud of what she achieved in her short life. Ali, we all miss you so much, you will always be in our hearts and you will never be forgotten.”

The family has asked that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.

Last week, Warwickshire Police appealed for information from the public on the incident.

In a statement, the force said: “Warwickshire Police are appealing for witnesses to a single vehicle collision that occurred on the B4086 between Warmington and Kineton at approximately 1310 hours on Wednesday 24 October 2018.

“The collision is believed to have occurred as a red Toyota Yaris was travelling towards Kineton and after passing over a level crossing is thought to have lost control on a bend.”

The statement went on: “The single occupant of the vehicle, a 19-year-old woman from Warwick suffered life threatening head injuries and was taken by air ambulance to University Hospital of Coventry & Warwickshire.

“She was kept in an induced coma until Tuesday 30 October 2018 when she was declared dead and her life support system was turned off.

“The force would like to speak to any witnesses to the accident, which involved the woman’s red Toyota Yaris, at 1.30pm on October 24.”

Witnesses who can help with the investigation should phone investigating officer Wil Weininger on 101 ext 3950.
