ARREST AFTER MAN SHOT DEAD
POLICE LAUNCH APPEAL AS THEY CARRY OUT HOUSE-TO-HOUSE ENQUIRIES IN COVENTRY STREET
POLICE have arrested a man on suspicion of murder after another man was shot dead in Coventry.
Offices were called to an address in Chepstow Close, Willenhall, at just after 1am yesterday morning.
The victim, who has not yet been formally identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
West Midlands Police has stated that a 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody for questioning.
A spokesman said: “The investigation is at an early stage and house-tohouse and CCTV enquiries are being carried out.”

West Midlands Ambulance Service have also confirmed they were called to the scene in the early hours of this morning.
A spokesman for the trust said: “West Midlands Ambulance Service can confirm that it was called to reports of a patient who had been shot in Chepstow Close, Willenhall, Coventry shortly after 1.00am this morning (Friday).
“An ambulance, a paramedic officer and a critical care car from the Air Ambulance Service responded to the scene.”
“Crews arrived to find a man with serious injuries who was in cardiac arrest.
“Ambulance staff worked quickly to administer advanced life support at the scene.
“Sadly, despite their best efforts nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead a short time later.”
