- By KATY HALLAM Chief Reporter

RESIDENTS have made calls for more police on the streets of Coventry after the fourth shooting in less than a month.

Emergency services were called to Bishop Street this week after a teenager was shot in the leg in the car park close to PureGym.

The 19-year-old was taken to hospital with what were believed to be non life-threatening injuries.

It is the fourth shooting so far in February alone.

A 29-year-old man was also shot in the leg with a shotgun inside a house in Elkington Street, Bell Green on February 5.

It followed a gun being fired through a door in Earlsdon at around 8pm on Monday, February 4, and then a shot being fired towards a man in Blenheim Avenue, Holbrooks, at just before 9.30pm, but fortunately he was not injured.
