Still time to enter Cov Half Marathon

THERE’S still time to enter this year’s Coventry Half Marathon, but you’ll need to be quick.

The popular running event, which was cancelled last year due to the weather, returns as part of a week long Festival of Running.

Thousands of runners will be hitting the streets of Coventry attempting to get a new personal best.

If you want to be part of it you’ll need to register by Friday, March 15.

But for those of you struggling to make up your mind, our guide with everything you need to know about the 2019 Coventry Half Marathon might just sway you to get your running shoes on.

The Coventry Half Marathon takes place on Sunday, March 24. It kicks off at 8:30am.

You will need to pay your entry fee and submit a short form with informatio­n like your contact details, any medical issues and your t-shirt size.

You’ll need to be quick as entries close at midday on Friday, March 15.

Standard entry costs £35 (or £33 if you are an affiliated runner).

You’ll also get a technical t-shirt and medal included.

Students can get a discount, with the cost for them £28.

The route is a total of 13.1 miles.

The race starts right in the heart of the city at Millennium Place heading out onto Radford Road and into Allesley.

The race then heads into the Coundon area with great views of the city centre skyline before finishing up right outside the beautiful Coventry Cathedral.

There are five water points for runners to fill up their bottles or just grab a cup of water to rehydrate along the route.

These points are also where the toilets will handilybe located.

They are on Moseley Avenue, where Holyhead Road meets Birmingham Road, off Washbrook Lane, on Hollyfast Lane and near Waste Lane.

The half marathon might be the main event but there’s a lot more going on at Coventry’s Festival of Running.

The celebratio­n of sport kicks off with theChildre­n’s Mile and Toddler Dash on Sunday, March 17.

The first GoRun 5k will be on the same day as the half marathon, March 24.
