New gym in Cov for people who hate gym

- By LAURA HARTLEY News Reporter laura.hartley@reachplc.com

A GYM for people who hate the gym is opening in Coventry.

A studio is going to be launched which uses Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) training, a way of creating stronger and more intense muscle contractions than normal training.

It is said that EMS training is much more effective in developing strength, stamina and improving body shape.

It might not be to everyone’s taste, however it does appeal to the likes of Usain Bolt, David Haye and Lindsay Lohan, with them all raving about it.

Bodystreet uses specialised EMS equipment from miha bodytec, the leading manufacturer of EMS technology.

While training, impulses are delivered to the body through a specially designed training suit containing electrodes.

EMS training works by providing an external stimulus via an EMS machine to help you engage muscle fibres you might otherwise struggle to target through normal exercises. By connecting up to the equipment and performing a number of body weight exercises, you can start to see results including, but not limited to:

Increased overall strength and power output Enhanced cardiovascular efficiency Effective rehabilitation, especially for lower back issues The studio is set to open in late March.

It isn’t just used to get fit, with people using it for body sculpting too.

Phil Horton, Country Director for the UK at miha bodytec said: “The market potential for EMS training is vast.

“EMS is great for body sculpting, for athletes looking to get that extra edge, or for people recovering from injuries as a form of rehab.

“It can also be a great way to tap into an entirely new market - previously inactive individuals who don’t like a typical gym environment.

“The proven model provides fast ROI which in turn, provides the opportunity for rapid expansion.”

There are no details yet about where the studio will be.
