THE CAMERON INTERVIEW

THREE years after David Cameron, right, resigned as Prime Minister, the politician gives his first in-depth TV interview about his time in Number 10.

Talking extensively to ITV political broadcaster Tom Bradby, Cameron is set to be grilled on the highs and lows of his time in office.

Since his resignation followed the country’s momentous Brexit referendum, Cameron will also be asked about his thoughts on the 2016 vote and its consequences for the UK.

He is also set to face topics including his view of current Prime Minister – and fellow Etonian – Boris Johnson, as well as any regrets about his leadership.

Bradby says: “I am thoroughly looking forward to this much-anticipated interview. It could hardly come at a more interesting, or pivotal, time.”

The interview also ties in with the launch of Cameron’s memoir, For the Record, which is due to be released on Thursday, a month before Johnson’s Brexit deadline.

A CONFESSION

THIS is the point when you start to wonder if Det Supt Steve Fulcher, played by Martin Freeman, right, is starting to go a bit rogue.

He’s investigating the disappearance of Sian O’Callaghan and he’s convinced he’s got his man, Christopher Halliwell.

In remote countryside, Fulcher quizzes his prime suspect about missing Sian and refuses his request to go straight to a police station.

“You’ll get the chance to speak to a solicitor, but first I’m giving you the chance to tell me where Sian is,” says Fulcher. “I know you did it.”

It’s a neat tactic and he’s doing the right thing morally – according to procedure however, it’s not the right thing at all. And there will be consequences.

As Halliwell begins talking, there are some brilliantly tense scenes between Freeman and Joe Absolom as the cop and villain. And there are more twists and turns as Halliwell reveals more than Fulcher was anticipating.
