Congestion that is hitting 999 services

-

I REGULARLY sit at Jubilee Crescent, Radford, and watch with dismay and a sad heart as I see emergency services continually blocked by over extended bus stops and traffic.

I sadly wonder, while I observe the flashing lights of the ambulance stuck behind traffic whether or not that vital thirty seconds plus, would have saved the life of a child or perhaps a loved one?

It breaks my heart as I then ponder on how many lives have actually been affected by that delayed emergency service that was jammed?

Result different if we had new referendum

SO Councillor Tim Mayer believes that the Remain members of parliament have betrayed the Leave voters. Well the whole country has just been betrayed by a Prime Minister who has deliberately shut down democracy and debate to try to achieve something that the majority of the country does not want.

It is now quite obvious that, should we have another referendum, then the result would be different, not only have large numbers of people changed their mind but a considerable number of those that still wish to leave do not wish to do so without a deal.

The reason why Parliament has been shut down is to deny the people a new vote now that the promises of the side that cheated have been shown to be false. What Councillor Mayer has failed to mention in any of his letters to this column is a single outcome of leaving the EU, with or without a deal, that would be of benefit to the people of Coventry or the UK. We now know that there is a strong likelihood of disruption to supplies, unemployment and a reduction in the standard of living for all but the very rich.
