Schoolboy cyclist, 11, killed in collision with car
POLICE LAUNCH WITNESS APPEAL AFTER TRAGIC ROAD INCIDENT
A NORTH Warwickshire schoolboy has died in a tragic road collision.
The child, who has not been identified but is aged 11, lost his life after the bike he was riding was involved in a collision with a car on Coleshill Road, Nuneaton, at 2.40pm on Saturday afternoon (November 2).
In a statement, Warwickshire Police said that at around 2.40pm they received reports that a child on a bike had been in collision with a car.
Emergency services attended and a doctor who was passing the scene also provided treatment to the 11-yearold boy.
He was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire, where he was sadly pronounced dead.
A witness appeal has now been launched.
A spokesperson for the Warwickshire Police Serious Collision Investigation Team said: “This is a tragic incident and we’re appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened or was passing with dash cameras in this location to please contact us.
“Our thoughts are with the boy’s family at this time.”
A man was arrested in connection with the incident and later released under investigation.

A candlelit vigil was being held for the young boy in Brett’s Hall Park in Ansley Common at 6pm last night. Those who knew the youngster were urged to light up the park for him.
